With a last minute decision to allow ABC body late models to compete with the new Camaro and Mustang bodies, Dillon Oliver buckled down, got to work, and made a late arrival at the ORP race on June 12 to run with what was titled the ASALMS Challenge Series in 2009. Despite a depleted selection of tires and limited practice time, Oliver and his crew (Rob Sanders, Jeremy WIlbert, Sean Brincefield) worked hard and made the #33 hard to ignore.  Oliver nearly set fast time in qualifying only to be bumped slightly by hometown favorite Brent Downey. When the inversion factored in Oliver would be starting in the 8th position.  With weather threatening to shorten the event, Oliver wasted no time making his way through traffic when a three wide pass for the lead put Dillon up front only 23 laps into the race. Needing 101 of the 200 laps to be complete for the show to be official, Oliver led 60 consecutive laps and stretched his lead to an entire straight away before rain once again interfered with a dominating performance. Again the rain refused to stop and the race was called.  With less than the required laps in the books, victory had evaded the #33. With two consecutive races ending before the halfway point, Oliver was faced with only one choice, roll the fastest car by far into the trailer and look ahead to the next potential weekend to get the family funded car on the track.
